For yet another year, we actively support women’s entrepreneurship in the agri-food sector.

The conference ‘Climate Change & Agri-food: Adaptation, Innovation & Sustainable Entrepreneurship’ successfully concluded on November 20, 2025, at the ‘Atraktos’ multi-purpose venue.
During the conference, the business ideas of women who participated in the Empowering Women in Agrifood program were highlighted. This program is an initiative of the European Organization EIT Food, implemented in 13 European countries, and the Grand Sponsor for Greece was the company Nikolopoulou Foods.
Ms. Chrysa Papagiannaki received the award Nikolopoulou Foods for her idea of a portable device that combines NIR spectroscopy and artificial intelligence for easy & quick pre-estimation of the potential presence of pesticide residues. The award was presented on behalf of Nikolopoulou Foods by Mr. Christos Vasilopoulos (Commercial Director).
The conference was addressed by the founder of AWomanCanBe.org, Ms. Vanessa Archontidou; the Minister of Development & Investments, Mr. Takis Theodorikakos; the Rector of the University of Thessaly, Mr. Charalambos Billinis; and the Commercial Director of Nikolopoulou Foods, Mr. Christos Vasilopoulos. The event highlighted the modern challenges faced by the agri-food sector during the period of climate change, proposed solutions and sustainable practices, and largely emphasized the need for a strategic development model that will focus on the environment and people.
